Hi folks,

Today, the MacPorts people committed the portfile I wrote for Solfege,
so it should be available to the public sometime soon (I don't
actually know how long).

But the person who committed it also said they got the following
error: "No module named _solfege_c_midi". Tom Cato, what do you know
about this error? I've never gotten it myself. But googling it
turned up a few other hits of people getting this error when trying to
install Solfege on Mac, all the way back to Solfege 3.9. What does it
mean? I've been assuming that the Mac's built-in support for MIDI is
enough for Solfege, because I've never had any trouble myself, and I
certainly don't *remember* installing any special MIDI stuff (like
Timidity).

After finding out what you (or anyone else here) knows about it, I'll
try writing to all the people I can find who've had this error, and
see what I can gather from that.

(For those interested, here's the MacPorts ticket where I submitted my
Solfege portfile: http://trac.macports.org/ticket/18870)

Thanks,
Allen
