New issue 220 by [email protected]: No sound in ‘Beats per minute’
exercise
http://code.google.com/p/solfege/issues/detail?id=220

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Open ‘Misc > Misc exercises > Beats per minute’
2. Click on ‘New’
3. No sound, i.e. no beats

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

After clicking on ‘New’ (‘Beats per minute’ exercise), there is no sound
(no beats). Instead, Timidity uses about 30% of CPU usage. There is no
problem with the other exercises; Timidity doesn’t use that much CPU with
the other exercises. And there is also no problem with G-Tick metronome
application. (I know that this is another programme but I thought that it
might help in excluding some potential bugs.) I’m not sure if this is a
Solfège or a Timidity bug (probably it is just due to wrong Timidity
settings), but otherwise, Timidity runs fine.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

– Gnu Solfège 3.16.4 (1.fc13, Fedora package), Fedora 13, with Pulse Audio
– Gnu Solfège 3.18.7 (self-compiled), Fedora 13, without Pulse Audio

Please provide any additional information below.

This bug can’t be related to Pulse Audio because the problem occurs with
Pulse Audio, but also without.
