Perhaps the user can select which notes are allowed, relative to the root  
note. It could get a little complicated. One set of check boxes to pick the  
notes that are allowed. Then a range slider to choose how many notes can be  
played at the same time.

When I say static, I mean, should the root note change for every question  
or always be the same note. If you check out Absolute Pitch Avenue you can  
get a basic idea of what I'm talking about. If you guys decide to try it, I  
could try to create a basic spec.
