I do not look to them as a reliable source of good ideas for search. Oracle's problem statement has a plausible strawman, but there are lots of better ways to deal with misspellings. Heck, my dev instance of Solr gives Michael Crichton as the first hit for "Michel Crichton". It is not true that "hits which are a poor match will be mixed in with hits which are a good match." Hmmm, "Crichton" is much more likely to be misspelled than "Michael", so maybe their strawman isn't very good. wunder
