Grant, the limitation comes from multi-valued fields. When you join tables, it
is most probably because you have a 1-to-many relationship. However, in that
case a single row in the result does not contain all the information needed to
create the Solr document. You'd need to combine many rows using the
primary/foreign key to get all the data required in the Solr document. Btw,
SOLR-103 is similiar to the functionality you have in mind.
