Geo question: Need distance from a lat/lon from SOLR query

Hi all,

I'm a newbie to this group.

 

What is the best  way to build a SOLR service with geo-location? Would that
be locallucene?

 

Also what are the issues with integrating locallucene with SOLR?

 

Is there a better solution altogether?
