When it's something easy, there comes a point when it makes sense to stop asking more questions and just try it yourself... I just did this, and can confirm what you're seeing. For me, 5.3.1 is about 5x slower than 4.10 for this particular query. Thanks for your persistence / patience in reporting this. Could you open a JIRA issue for it? -Yonik
