Thanks thats the bottle neck i am strugging with. i have configured the jndi lookup for solr home many times on my pc no issues, but just a bit clueless on how to go with a remote machine. here is te exact snipped i have in my web.xml please have a look and tell me is there something wrong with the way i declare. <env-entry> <env-entry-name>solr/home</env-entry-name> <env-entry-value>/home/myaccount/solr-home</env-entry-value> <env-entry-type>java.lang.String</env-entry-type> </env-entry> then i also treid this <env-entry> <env-entry-name>java:comp/env/solr/home</env-entry-name> <env-entry-value>/home/myaccount/solr-home</env-entry-value> <env-entry-type>java.lang.String</env-entry-type> </env-entry> but still no luck
