Hi, I could be mistaken, but there is no pull-replication in Solr 4 unless one is trying to catch up using traditional Java replicatoin that pulls from one node to the other. I believe replication is push style, immediate, and replicas don't talk to ZK for that. Master and slaves are also a thing of the past and now we have leaders and replicas.
