Hmmm, i can reproduce, and that definitely doesn't make any sense to me.
There are some open issues related to CurrencyField, but nothing
specifically about this "missing == 0.0" behavior (although it might
explain why Jan ran into headaches working on SOLR-3886) so i've opened an
issue...
