You've given us nearly zero information about what the problem is. All we know right now is that you restart tomcat and Solr doesn't deploy. See this wiki page: http://wiki.apache.org/solr/UsingMailingLists Getting specific, we'll need tomcat logs, Solr logs, versions of everything.
