What Vaio are you using?
I tried Natty alpha3 vi a Z12(1600x1280 screen). Not much luck. I don't
see anything at boot (screen remains blank), so I can't boot into the
live system. I might be able to install the same way i did with 10.10
but I don't want to ruin my mostly working system.

b. Switching between Intel and NVIDIA. Honestly I don't care too much
about this for my own purposes, it's more just curiousity :)
3. Internal microphone
Doesn't seem to be working.
