Hi, just a quick follow-up to my last email.
I finally managed to get both speed and stamina to work in my Z13 with Ubuntu 11.04... almost. I used the stock kernel, latest Nvidia binary from their site, Adam's patch to sony-laptop kernel module and Adam's upstart script modified for stock kernel use. I wrote a guide here: http://www.adhocism.net/2011/05/installing-ubuntu-11-04-on-sony-vaio-vpc-z13m9eb/ The only thing is that when booting into Speed mode, I have to drop into console and restart the gdm service to get a working X session. Annoying, but I can live with that, since I mostly use the stamina mode. Any ideas how to fix that?
