I don't know if this works, but have you tried the following? Monitor A attached to the DVI output in the docking station Monitor B attached to the hdmi output on the laptop I imagine you'll have to have the Nvidia card active. If it were me, I'd also get the beta Nvidia driver from the X Updates PPA so that you can use the normal Ubuntu monitor configuration tools rather than Nvidia Settings.
