STUDENTS SEEK TO PREVENT DECENTRALIZATION PROCESS IN KOSOVO
Pristina, May 3 (SRNA) - Some 200 students of Pristina University, members
of the Students' Union, protested today in front of UNMIK headquarters in
Kosovo and the Kosovo Assembly demanding an immediate halt and prevention of
the decentralization process in Kosovo, reported SRNA's correspondent from
Pristina.
The students are demanding that decentralization be suspended immediately
and that Kosovska Mitrovica "at any price must not become a divided city".
The proclamation from the protest, which unfolded peacefully, states that
the students demand that Kosovo be a unified territory without the formation
of new municipalities and that Albanians be permitted to return to the
northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica.
