B92 (Serbia) March 27, 2007 Koštunica: Russian veto historical BELGRADE - A Russian veto on Ahtisaari’s plan would have historical significance for the Serbian nation, Vojislav Koštunica says. The Serbian prime minister told Tanjug news agency the UN special Kosovo envoy Martti Ahtisaari’s plan made public at the UN yesterday, served to “break up Serbia and change its borders at will”, the government web site reported. Koštunica continued that therefore, a Russian veto would have “the deepest sense of historical importance for Serbia and the Serbian nation.” “Today Serbia once again declares that Kosovo-Metohija will never be independent, and that Serbia rejects in advance any attempt at seizing Kosovo-Metohija as an act of legal aggression,” Koštunica added. Tanjug also reported that Koštunica reminded of the NATO military action against Serbia, undertaken without the approval of the UN Security Council, describing the intervention as “a burden large enough for NATO to carry for the past and entire present century.” “We are convinced that Ahtisaari’s proposal will not be upheld by the Security Council and that will open the doors to a new process of negotiations with a new mediator,” Koštunica concluded. ------------------------------------------------------ http://www.makfax.com.mk/look/novina/article.tpl?IdLanguage=1&IdPublication= 2&NrArticle=60652&NrIssue=306&NrSection=20 MakFax (Macedonia) March 27, 2007 Russia won't back imposed solution on Kosovo Moscow - Russia will not support a unilateral and imposed solution on Kosovo in the United Nations, Russian Foreign Ministry said in a document published on Ministry's webpage.
