I am not sure. Since the init created /dev tmpfs is an emergency measure, it can't realy rely on the presence of ptyfs. And before we go to more magic (like querying presence of compat_bsdpty or something), it is probably better to just create some ptys. We can, however, use a modified MAKEDEV script for install cdroms (and then use ptyfs). Martin
