As far as I understand this function tries possible video drivers and finally selects a default one, which is "vesa" for x86 and "wsfb" for the rest. I'm fine with that. What I need is -DDEFAULT_TO_WSKBD for the keyboard protocol, which happens in xf86-input-keyboard/dist/configure.
