Cuts both ways; next time I hit ^\ to make it core-dump and it does not work because it chdir'ed to slash... I will then have to edit the source to fix this. In general programs should not do unexpected things; you can alias top to 'cd / && /usr/bin/top' in your own environment. Please don't impose this to everyone.
