Thank you for explaining this example. I had a gut feeling that there would be some hidden correlation between some octal/hexadecimal combinations, but I couldn't name it. Indeed, if the number base for output is hexadecimal, the field comparisons should be done in hexadecimal as well. I adjusted the description and examples in the manual page accordingly. Roland
