YAMBIO, 03 November 2011 [Gurtong] - The returnees who travelled from the north through Tambura, Nzara, Mundri, Maridi, and Ezo arrived in the Western Equatoria State capital Yambio were received by the State South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (SSRC) Director Lexson Wari Eluzai. Wari said the repatriation was facilitated by the SSRRC and the Government of South Sudan’s Ministry Humanitarian Affairs. “The SSRRC is well prepared to receive the IDPS, resettle and reintegrate them into the community”, he said. A representative of the IDPS Zahara Boma was elated to be back home despite the numerous challenges they faced on their way to their motherland. “I thank God for giving us journey mercies during our gruelling journey back home. We also thank the Almighty for rescuing us from the miserable life that we led in the north and we hope that things will now turn to the better as we are home”, she said. Another group of IDPs is expected to arrive in Yambio today from Khartoum through the Western Bahr el Ghazal State capital Wau.
