The Central Bank of South Sudan (CBSS) has secured USD 100 million to
purchase essential commodities to stabilize and reduce the rising
prices in the country.

The Deputy Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, John Dor Majok says
the money will serve as a Credit Line to finance the importation of
essential commodities.

According to the minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment, Garang
Diing Akuong, the essential non-food and food commodities are wheat
flour, rice, cooking oil and fuel.

Earlier, the governor of Central Bank Kornelio Koriom told Radio
Miraya that they were finalizing arrangement on the credit line.

Kornelio said the government had secured a loan from a friendly
country that would help stabilize commodity prices in the country for
at least six months.
