An international company held a meeting with Juba City Council to
discuss waste management in the city.

Thea Venter is the Director of Eastern and Southern Africa Satarem
Waste Management Company. She told the press Tuesday that she met with
the City Council to explore ways of turning Juba’s waste into much
needed electricity, Bakhita Radio reported.

She said Satarem wants to sign a memorandum of understanding with the
municipality in order to start preliminary studies on waste
management.

Miss Venter added that her company can turn any solid and liquid
wastes into good use.

Michael Ladu Allah Jabu is the speaker of Juba City Legislative
Council. He told reporters that the council has accepted the company
to work in Juba City.

He said the company will coordinate with South Sudan Electricity
Corporation to supply electricity to the communities that are not
connected with the power grid.

Miss Venter promised to start the feasibility studies and environment
impact assessment as soon as the government gives the green line.
