Sudan embassies in Africa may face isolation – lawmakers warn

Al-Sahafa Khartoum, 17/05/12 – Lawmakers in Sudan warn that the
country’s diplomatic missions in African states such as Tanzania,
Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya may face increased isolation.
Addressing lawmakers yesterday, Mahdi Ibrahim, who led a parliamentary
team dispatched to tour a number of African states and brief their
leaders on Sudan’s position on the recent Sudan, South Sudan conflict,
underlined the need for a review of the country’s foreign policies to
ensure the country does not “lose its African identity”.
He pointed out that their tour of these African states in the region
showed them that these countries strongly sympathised with the SPLM
position, noting that the Government of South Sudan had preceded their
delegation to brief these states on their position.
