WAU, 21 May 2012 [Gurtong]- The party’s State Secretary Kamil Wana
Uraj and three assistant secretaries who were axed from the party by
the SPLM Liberation Council last month have refused to vacate office.

The party‘s State Chairperson General Mark Nyipuoch Ubuong convened a
meeting Monday where he urged the four officials to act as required to
avoid more wrangles in the party.

Ubuong directed the new State Secretary Paulino Adam Naro and the
State Deputy Chairperson Joseph Anthony Kpandu to ensure the ousted
officials hand over their offices peacefully.

He at the same time directed that the party’s activities proceed as
per the party’s resolutions at last month’s meeting.

He urged the ousted officials not to undermine the party but instead
encouraged them to embrace dialogue and strengthen the party in the
state.

The officials were dismissed from the party over what officials said
were gross misconduct in contravention of the party’s constitution.
