The Deputy Chairperson of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission, Javana Luka Joseph, received the returnees and urged them to practice agriculture and contribute to nation building. "Our people are welcome to the Republic so that they can come also and start cultivating, helping so that at least the country could go ahead. Those people who have come, they came on their will. The total number which has now arrived from Israel is 635. Another flight will be coming next week so that it will sum to 700 because the total number of South Sudanese who are in Israel are 700," said Javana. Some of the returnees shed tears of joy for having come back home. "I cried because I could not expect that one day I could be able to meet my family who has been here and I have been facing many problems in my life. I went to Israel on foot and some people died on the way. I could not even feel tears in my eyes," one man said. "I have been [away] for a very long, long time since when I was born here. But when I was four years, we left Juba," a woman said. However, a ten-year old girl expressed concern about the dirt in Juba. "I am not happy because the place is little dirty, not like the other country. If I were a grown-up person, I would be able to help but I will help in future," she said. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
