trial,” Beden told Gurtong in an interview.
According to media reports last week, Soro James, a farmer in Kinyiba
Boma of Kangopo II Payam was beaten to death by a mob for allegedly
sending a snake to bite a community member in the area.
It was alleged that, the victim of the snake bite was a member with
Soro in the same farmer group and had gone to tend to his kraal from
where he was attacked by a poisonous snake in the bush.
He later on died after he was admitted at Mundari Hospital in Kajokeji.
It is reported that during the hearing of the late's history and cause
of death at the funeral, a woman who was in the cooking spot went
wailing allegedly possessed with spirit traditionally in the Kuku
culture referred to as ("jok jok"), ran and caught Soro on the legs
and accused him loudly to the crowd for killing the victim of the
snake bite.
It is after the incident that the deceased was attacked by a mob and
beaten and later died from the injuries inflicted.
