YAMBIO CELEBRATES SPLM/A DAY

Government officials, NGOs, organized forces and communities in Yambio
County, Western Equatoria on Thursday celebrated the SPLM/A 30th
anniversary.

Deputy Governor, Sapana Abui said May 16, is the bottom line of South
Sudanese history marking the establishment of the liberation movement.

He said many groups of the youth and women from all the state corners
joined the movement as far as 1980.

Mr Abui said “no more bloodshed” in Western Equatoria State because
war is very expensive.

State Legislative Assembly speaker Bage James Elisa described the day
as historic and that it brought enjoy, justice, freedom and prosperity
to the country.

SPLA commander of division eight Makol Ajang said there is relevant
peace in the state.

He urged all citizens especially the arrow boys to be vigilant because
security is priority in the state.

Brigadier General Ajang condemned Yau Yau group for fighting its own
people for no good reason.

He said May 16 reminds South Sudanese heroes and heroines who offered
their lives to liberate South Sudan.
