JUBA, 19 May 2013 [Gurtong] - Ali who was accompanied by Sudan’s
Director of International Security Mohamed Atta in a statement to the
press upon her arrival said he was sent by Bashir to deliver his
message to Kiir.

He said the message covers issues on promotion of relations between
Juba and Khartoum, commitment to the implementation of the Cooperation
Agreement and a follow up of the implementation modalities by the two
nations.

Bashir is committed to the implementation of the security mechanism,
Karti said, adding Bashir said he will not allow the insurgency in his
country to threaten security in its border with South Sudan.

The two Heads of States are soon expected to meet at the Ethiopian
Capital, Addis Ababa to discuss recent issues that have been irked by
the killing of the Abyei paramount Chief Kuol Deng Kuol early this
month.

South Sudanese Foreign Minister Nhial Deng Nhial expressed optimism on
likely improving relations between Sudan and South Sudan following
Ali’s visit, adding dialogue is the only way to sort out the
differences between the two nations.
