GOVERNMENT TERMINATES CONTRACTS OF FOREIGNERS IN PUBLIC SERVICE Friday, 17 May 2013 15:05 | The Council of Ministers decided in its Friday ordinary sitting to terminate the contracts of all foreign nationals employed in public service.
Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin told the press at the end of the Cabinet that each ministry has three months to identify foreign nationals working for it and notify the Labour and Public Service ministry to terminate their contracts. Dr Marial said those foreign nationals that overstayed can apply for permanent residence. He added that those who have their contracts terminated will receive the post service benefits that are part of the cooperation agreements. Dr Marial said foreign nationals working for the private sector need working and resident permits. He added that the Cabinet also approved the Rural Development Policy 2013 presented by Minister Betty Achan Ogwaro to promote development. Dr Marial noted that the Policy is a key document because 85 percent of South Sudanese live in rural areas. Vice President Riek Machar Teny presided over the Council of Ministers. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
