*TORIT, 29 November 2013 [Gurtong] –* This new move seeks to execute the
state government’s policy on staff deployment to the eight counties of the
state with ultimate purpose to extend services closer to the people.

Signed by the Ministry’s Acting Director General Donato Apari, the
announcement repeatedly made over the state owned radio last evening and
this morning urges the named civil servants to adhere to the decision and
quickly respond.

The State Governor Louis Lobong Lojore announced the plan to deploy more
state officials to counties to take services near to the people after his
recent tour of the 10 state ministries.

The Eastern Equatoria State Gender, Culture and Social Development Minister
Paska Hifita Oduho appealed to the civil servants recently deployed to the
county level to sincerely carry out their obligations and deliver services
as promised.

The State Physical Infrastructure Minister Hassan Urbano Alex also released
his list of staff to be sent to the counties.

According to the new plan, only 20 civil servants of each ministry would
remain at the state capital, about 85 percent of them shall be based at the
counties.

This is the implementation of the government’s policy of taking towns to
the people at the grassroots for better services, a vision of the founding
father of the new nation, the Late John Garang Mabior.

The governor urged the civil servants to remain committed in discharging
duties amidst the challenges his administration continues to face.
