AWEIL EAST (22 Jan.)

The cabinet of South Sudan's Aweil East state has given approval to
recruit about 93 traditional chiefs for the state ministry of local
government, a senior local official said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Saparino Majok , Secretary General of Aweil East
state , said the Council of Ministers in its sitting on Thursday agreed to
employ about 93 traditional leaders in the ministry of local government in
the state.

He pointed out that the decision was made to recognize their role in the
liberation struggle in Sudan, saying the traditional chiefs will also help
the state government to carry out its work effectively.

"After the creation of the new states, our government in Aweil East found
it important because chiefs are playing a great role in the community and
in the government, those chiefs also participated in the liberation
struggle,"said Jok.

that anyone among them will get 708 SSP monthly.
