SPLM-IO threatens reprisal for Kenyan nationals if arrested members are
deported to Juba

AKOBO (26 Jan.)

A senior civil administrator in the   rebel held area has issued orders
threatening to detain all Kenyan nationals in the rebel held area of Akobo
including humanitarian workers, if the Kenyan government deported the
arrest senior SPLM-IO officials.

Koang Rambang Chol, an order entitled standing orders directed all security
organs in the area under his control to ensure no Kenyan is allowed exit if
his colleagues are deported to Juba.“ I am ordering all security organs,
including military intelligence not to allow Kenyan citizens, including
those working in the humanitarian organizations to leave Bieh state
territory until further directive from my office”, the order notes in part.

Koang said Kenya would be dealing a blow to the relations the citizens of
the two countries had established should its leadership decide to deport of
their key member. If Dong Samuel is deported to Juba, I am afraid Kenya
government would have hit the last nail on the coffin in regard to Bieh
state. All Kenyans, including those in the humanitarian world must send
strong to their government on the matter. Bieh state leadership and the
citizens will never tolerate such practices”, the order adds.
