Gbudue government plans to transport IDPs to their villages YAMBIO (7 Feb.) Authorities in Gbudue State have announced a plan to relocate the conflict-displaced people who are currently living in Yambio town to their areas of origin to prepare their agricultural fields. In early January, hundreds of citizens fled to Yambio after fighting erupted between government troops and opposition fighters in villages near Yambio town. Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, Victor Edward, Deputy Governor of Gbudue State, said his government plans to transport the conflict-displaced families who came from villages around Yambio to their areas of origin to prepare for the coming cultivation season. The local official claimed that the security situation returned to normal in those villages where clashes erupted with the rebels in January. “The security situation is good there, there is no any problem, and we are now planning to take people back to their places because the rainy season is coming, so they should go and get ready,” said Edward. -- To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected] Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/d/forum/southsudankob View this message at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/southsudankob/topic-id/message-id For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
