Nuba refugees at Moyo camp report lack of services

NORTHERN UGANDA (10 Feb.)

More than 30 Nuba refugees, mostly women children at Moyo refugee camp in
northern Uganda have complained about shortages of basic services.

The Nuba refugees fled to Uganda after an attack carried out by armed
groups on Lasu camp in South Sudan’s Yei River State in August
2016.Abdel-baqi Suleiman, a refugee who stranded in Moyo camp, told Radio
Tamazuj yesterday they arrived in the camp in early January after fleeing
violence in Lasu camp near the Congolese border.

He pointed out that most of the children who were separated from their
families following the attack on Lasu are currently living in the Moyo camp
without clothes and shelter.“We are not safe here, because we are few in
number, and our situations is not good at all, if some organizations are
able to collect us and take us to our brothers who are in Adjumini that
will be good,” said Suleiman.” Our number here is more than 30 people, the
children who separated from their parents are many here and they need food
and shelter,” he added.

The refugee noted that some humanitarian organizations in Moyo are
providing some services, but they are not enough. He called on other aid
agencies to assist them as soon as possible.
