Commissioner says Yei regains calm after insecurity

Radio Easter Monday, February 13, 2017 - 15:53

The security situation is calm after recent state of uncertainty, says the
Commissioner of Yei River County. Denis Lasuba describes some recent
incidences of fighting as isolated, Radio Easter reports.

The county authority is investigating recent events indicating insecurity,
the official says. He urges citizens to be calm.

The commissioner also urges the civil population not to run away from
soldiers. Running away from the army results in suspicion that those
fleeing are criminals, Commissioner Lasuba cautions citizens.

The official made the statement in an exclusive interview with Radio Easter
after recent killings in Nyongwe residential area.
