Government claims repelling rebel attack in Kajo-keji

KAJO-KEJI (22 Feb.)

Local authorities in Kajo-keji County in South Sudan’s Yei River state
claimed that government troops repulsed a rebel attack in the area on
Monday.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Luka Yombe, Kajo-keji County Commissioner, said
rebel forces loyal to former first vice president Riek Machar attacked
Bumuri village on Monday morning, but they were repulsed.“Yes, there was an
attack by the SPLA-IO forces, they attacked the government position, there
was no heavy fighting, the government forces are still controlling the
area,” he Yombe.
