Sudan’s interior minister resigns

KHARTOUM (23 Feb.)

Sudan's Minister of Interior Gen. Esmat Abdel-Rahman has tendered his
resignation to President Omar Al Bashir, according to multiple sources.

The sources in Khartoum told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that there was a
misunderstanding between the interior minister and the presidency since the
past three weeks.

They pointed out that the minister decided to resign after the presidency
failed to solve differences between his ministry and the paramilitary Rapid
Support Force over Jebel Amir area in western Sudan.
