Malong at Juba airport on to receive the body of his daughter 15 Sept
2014 (ST Photo)
September 15, 2017 (JUBA) - The former South Sudanese chief of army
staff said Friday that the death of his daughter and refusal by the
government to allow him to attend burial service at home in his
village has put the family in real tragedy.

“You saw the faces of the people, the mother, the brothers, sisters of
Alakiir and other family members who knew her. They were all down.
Some of them did not eat for days. It is a real tragedy and this is
why I had hoped to attend the burial and provide guidance during the
period of mourning but now there is no information I will go with the
body,” Gen.Paul Malong Awan told Sudan Tribune on Friday.

The former Inspector General of police, Gen. Pieng Deng Kuol called on
the family to stay strong, saying it is the God who gave them the late
daughter and it is the same God who has taken her.

“I came to participate in the reception of the body and stand in
solidarity with Gen.Paul Malong and his family because death is
painful but what we can do. There is nothing we can do because this is
the same way we are going to. The tragedy here now is that it is the
young child, young daughter who has a lot to do with the family and
the country. She was a brave daughter and someone who loves people
that was the reason she gave her life to save others, her sister and
colleagues in the school,” said Gen. Kuol.

Awan, a former ally of President Salva Kiir, was dressed in a black
shirt as a sign of mourning the daughter. He looked calm but in an
unusual mood, partly due to the death of his daughter and house
arrest.

No senior presidential aide and cabinet ministers from his area were
at the airport during the reception of the body. However, low-level
government officials and two top army general generals we Comments on

The sooner the idiots that advised Salva Kiir get over this
nonsense & let the South Sudanese people look at other important
issues facing our country & our people from the inside & outside our
country, the better. Our people are really proving to be a short
memory people. Don’t they say in Dinka (Bible) that "duok ke nhiim ye
maar ci kul/kuool" (never be forgetful like pig/warthogs)>>>

A pig/warthog can run a way from its predator & then
forget in not less than 400 metres a way and start digging for food
that it was hunted for a dinner a minute or two earlier. This is the
analogy of the saying though. Right after the comprehensive peace
agreement (CPA) in 2005. Our most our leaders forgot like pigs that
existential enemy (our cloned so-called arab North Sudan)>>>

                Newsudan,
"fear of unknow" was reason Benjamin Bol Akok was
killed after talking to Mourmor battalion in Bonga, that he may take
over SPLM/A one day if he wants since Aweil is becoming majority.
Malong was dismissed purely for same reason, they even think they
still have rights to hold him. It is an injustice and this is why
entire Aweil is not divided.

Now President Salva Kiir has many enemies ,there are only 2
things he must do now.1_he must resign 2_or he stop this war.

If iam President Salva Kiir i will just stop this war in 3 months.
very easy very simple as ABCD.

This war is very expensive to continue ,look now no fuel,no

And so death is painful!! Although I would like to convey my
condolence for the loss of your daughter, I beg you to look at our
recent history about your responsibility on the death of thousands of
innocent Nuers in Juba and indeed many other South Sudanese in the
country. So death is only painful to you only if it is at your door
strange enough. Be human!!

        Jur,
Army Chief of staff at the time was James Hoth and the fight
in Juba where some civilians were killed was between Tiger, Kiir body
guides and reckless Riek group. How was Malong, then governor of NBG
be responsible? Yes Malong is responsible for destruction of white
army and their defeat across the country started from Bor. You have
right to hate him but not for what he’s not responsible.

grabbing anyone land by force. What is your problem?
