Mixing the packages in this way works for me, and may suit you too if
you need to get up and running quickly. Having checked, the only
package I'm using from Stahnma is rhel-instnum which should be fairly
safe.

If you are more cautious then holding back the yum upgrade in CentOS
5.4 until the Stahnma repository is fully up-to-date again might be
better for you.
