Hi Michael Thanks again, your suggestion worked like a charm.
After configuring the spacewalk nightly-candidate-client repo (f12), I updated the following packages: yum-rhn-plugin-0.8.4-1.fc12 Wed 27 Jan 2010 11:04:52 AM GMT rhnsd-4.8.2-1.fc12 Wed 27 Jan 2010 11:03:01 AM GMT rhnlib-2.5.19-1.fc12 Wed 27 Jan 2010 11:03:01 AM GMT yum-3.2.25-1.fc12 Wed 27 Jan 2010 11:01:03 AM GMT rhn-check-0.8.5-1.fc12 Wed 27 Jan 2010 11:00:48 AM GMT rhn-setup-0.8.5-1.fc12 Wed 27 Jan 2010 11:00:47 AM GMT rhn-client-tools-0.8.5-1.fc12 Wed 27 Jan 2010 11:00:45 AM GMT python-dmidecode-3.10.10-1.fc12 Wed 27 Jan 2010 10:56:59 AM GMT And it's all working as it should, ie my fedora 12 client can register to my spacewalk (07 on fedora 12) and browse the repo And install a package from the repo. On a side note, I've been using this link for my installs: https://fedorahosted.org/spacewalk/wiki/HowToInstall And there is no mention of the nightly-candidate-client repo. I'm pasting the url for others who search the mail archive. baseurl=http://miroslav.suchy.cz/spacewalk/nightly-candidate-client/f12/$basearch/os/ Regards Bruce -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michael Mraka Sent: 27 January 2010 07:35 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Spacewalk-list] Fedora 12 client & spacewalk yum issue Hi Bruce, % I've searched all the email I've received since the release of Fedora 12 % and I can't find any reference to an issue with fedora 12 yum being % incompatible with spacewalk. ... % Differences in yum versions: % fedora 12 client: % [r...@tlonxeng ~]# rpm -qa | grep yum % yum-utils-1.1.23-3.fc12.noarch % yum-metadata-parser-1.1.2-14.fc12.x86_64 % yum-presto-0.6.1-1.fc12.noarch % yum-rhn-plugin-0.7.6-1.fc12.noarch % yum-3.2.22-20.el5.centos.noarch % PackageKit-yum-0.5.4-0.1.20091029git.fc12.x86_64 % PackageKit-yum-plugin-0.5.4-0.1.20091029git.fc12.x86_64 % anaconda-yum-plugins-1.0-5.fc12.noarch % [r...@tlonxeng ~]# % % % rhel 5.3 client: % [r...@tloninzerotouch ~]# rpm -qa | grep yum % yum-security-1.1.16-13.el5 % yum-rhn-plugin-0.5.3-30.el5 % yum-updatesd-0.9-2.el5 % yum-metadata-parser-1.1.2-2.el5 % yum-3.2.22-20.el5 % [r...@tloninzerotouch ~]# % % % Is it a known issue whereby Fedora 12 (presumably yum) is not able to % talk to spacewalk 0.7...and at a guess any version of spacewalk (I've % not yet tried 0.8.36-1) during the last week or so there has been number of Fedora 12 bugs fixed in yum-rhn-plugin.
