Hey Ian,

I had an issue just like this and it had to do with the package cobbler-web
magically getting installed during a 'yum update' on the spacewalk server.
Removing that package got things working again.

Here's the message thread that covers the issue:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/spacewalk-list/2010-May/msg00160.html

Hope this helps,

Mike

Subject: [Spacewalk-list] spacewalk-repo-syn not updating last repo build
resulting in no channel info in /var/cache/rhn/repodata

I have a script that runs nightly to synchronise various channels.

The issue I have is that it does not seem to be updating the
/var/cache/rhn/repodata folder.

I only have

Base, updates, spacewalk client and el5 caches for my i38 and x86-64 clients

I don't have any repos listed for my extras and other channels.

Each channel is synchronised using

Reposync

Createrepo

Spacewalk-repo-sync

When I look at the channel management in spacewalk, I can see that the channels
not working have no date against the last Repo built field.
