ok, i think im barking up the wrong tree here.. when looking at the "software" tab under the kickstart profile where I have the package groups I want to install, I see this warning. *Note: only packages available in your Enterprise Linux install tree should be specified here.* To install packages available in Spacewalk software channels, please associate an appropriate activation key with this kickstart profile in the /Activation Keys/ tab.
ill have to find the appropriate manual/doc for that. regards, Jason On 09/01/10 13:30, Jason Welsh wrote: > looking in my logs, when this happens, I see. > > ERROR : disabling non-base repo rhel-virtualization: cannot retrieve > repository metadata (repmod.xml) for repository: rhel-virtualization. > please verify its path and try again. > > searches on this in google turned up nothing.. :( > > regards, > Jason > > > > On 09/01/10 11:26, Jason Welsh wrote: >> On 08/31/10 19:17, Colin Coe wrote: >>> Hi Jason >>> >>> I think we have found the problem. >>> >>> You should have one base channel (rhel server) and multiple child >>> channels with 'rhel server' as the parent. >>> >>> The structure should be similar to >>> rhel server (parent) >>> -> rhel cluster storage (child) >>> -> rhel cluster suite (child) >>> -> rhel virtualization (child) >>> -> rhn tools (child) >>> >>> Hope this helps >>> >>> CC >> ok, i have redone my channel tree to what you suggested and resetup the >> kickstart distro and profiles, and the good news is that >> I see the repos now being added into the kickstart file when I view the >> kickstart file in spacewalk. >> i see them as >> repo --name=rhel-cluster-suite .... >> repo --name=rhel-virtualization... >> repo --name=cusom-stuff .... >> >> btw, these still show up under "child channels" instead of >> "repositories".
