Hi,

You can also check the SELinux configuration. I had a similar problem when the `tomcat_can_network_connect_db` seboolan was not set correctly. My favourite tool to check if there is any SELinux problem is `sealert` from the setroubleshoot-server package.

Could not find any clue from logs in /var/log/rhn. Any idea where I should look?

Some relevant information could be in 
/var/log/tomcat*/catalina.out* and /var/log/http/*error_log.
