What I do is create clone channels and turn off automatic synching. When I’m ready to update I perform a manual sync, then run the aforementioned script and cleanup to remove all the older packages. Then I sync the clone with the parent channel and select to sync only new packages. That seems to keep my space down to a reasonable level.

I believe I have to start managing channels somehow...via spacecmd or GUI but I cannot get to them. All of the services are listed as running when I run /usr/sbin/spacewalk-service status but when I try to use spacecmd it gives ERROR: Failed to connect to https://../rpc/api The hostname is listed in /etc/hosts for localhost and I can ping the address. Other than that I'm not sure where to look to get the api connected. Would you guys have any ideas? Thanks again!
