So when will this bug be addressed? Personally, I'd like to see some sort of resolution in 3.0.0. As it stands, I'm unable to "HUP" spamd and have it continue logging. I guess a workaround for now is going to be to "restart" spamd instead of just respawning it. Just FYI - the reason I'm doing this is for log rotation.
