It must be partially because I run a bunch of custom rules to single out stock spam, MLM spam, and frequent spammers, but I seem to get higher scores than many people have posted. I get one or two scores over 30 per day.
In my archive of the last month of spam (1058 messages total from 3/11/2002 to 4/4/2002) I have the following range of scores: 45.8 (one message, all-time high for legitimate spam) 41-44 (8 messages) 36-40 (21 messages) 30-35 (63 messages) 25-29 (117 messages) 20-24 (158 messages) 15-19 (253 messages) 10-14 (292 messages) 6-9 (85 messages) 0-6, false negative (60 messages) Nearly half of the false negatives in this set are from em5000.net, who I added a rule for halfway through the month. (My threshold is set at 6.0.) This means SA had a hit rate of 94% for this batch of messages - not bad! I don't keep track of false positives, but there have been probably 5-6 during the last month. P.S. The message that scored 45.8 was a genuine "My wife Jody" message and scored on Razor and a bunch of network tests too - none of my custom rules affected that one. -- michael moncur mgm at starlingtech.com http://www.starlingtech.com/ "Nobody can be exactly like me.
