Some other "negative" scores that I find odd:

SPAM: LOW_PRICE (-1.2 points) BODY: Lowest Price
SPAM: HTML_FONT_COLOR_RED (-1.2 points) BODY: HTML font color is red
SPAM: BIG_FONT (-0.4 points) BODY: FONT Size +2 and up or 3 and up

I notice when I go to www.spamassassin.org these are NOT the values in the test.html
page - but they are in the 50_scores.cf file.

Have some of these been changed since 2.41? Is there a "change list" that I could
look at?

Thanks.

I'm admittedly new to this stuff, so please bear with me. I just got a message with
the following explanations:

SPAM: -------------------- Start SpamAssassin results ----------------------
SPAM: This mail is probably spam. The original message has been altered
SPAM: so you can recognise or block similar unwanted mail in future.
SPAM: See http://spamassassin.org/tag/ for more details.
SPAM:
SPAM: Content analysis details: (3.30 hits, 5.9 required)
SPAM: FROM_HAS_MIXED_NUMS (-0.9 points) From: contains numbers mixed in with letters
SPAM: NO_REAL_NAME (-0.3 points) From: does not include a real name
SPAM: FROM_HAS_MIXED_NUMS2 (1.9 points) From address matches known spammer format
SPAM: FROM_ENDS_IN_NUMS (1.6 points) From: ends in numbers
SPAM: US_DOLLARS_3 (2.1 points) BODY: Nigerian scam key phrase ($NN,NNN,NNN.NN)
SPAM: EARN_PER_WEEK (0.2 points) BODY: Contains 'earn $something per week'
SPAM: SPAM_PHRASE_05_08 (0.7 points) BODY: Spam phrases score is 05 to 08 (medium)
SPAM: [score: 7]
SPAM: SUPERLONG_LINE (-2.2 points) BODY: Contains a line >=199 characters long
SPAM: MSG_ID_ADDED_BY_MTA_3 (0.2 points) 'Message-Id' was added by a relay (3)
SPAM:
SPAM: -------------------- End of SpamAssassin results ---------------------

Trying to understand the "negative" values here - why would a line longer than 199
characters "decrease" the score? Also, why would the "From" lines having mixed
numbers/no real name decrease the value?

I realize I can change these values for myself if I choose, but I guess before I start
messing with the values I'd like to understand the logic behind these settings.

Thanks.

Danita
