Version 2.43 definitely fixed the whitelist troubles I was having. I did
delete my AWL file to reset it, though.

Maybe SA is picking up the mailing lists' headers rather than the original
ones and treating every message on a list as having the same sender,
effectively whitelisting everything sent from the lists.

It sounds like your particular situation isn't one where autowhitelisting
will do much good.

The real solution to spam on mailing lists is for the mailing list owners to
implement proper security. Mailing lists that allow non-subscribers to post*
are even more useful to a spammer than open relays, since they only have to
send one message and the list does the spamming for them.

* (including the SA lists for some reason)
