I'm currently using spamc/spamd here to filter the mail. This is a small place (only about 80 customers), so I was able to run the mailserver on a P2 450 without problems. When i started running spamassassin (on a per user basis), the machine started really bogging down - if only for 5-10 seconds every few minutes. I switched to calling spamc instead of spamassassin and it got MUCH better. I'm now getting requests to whitelist and/or blacklist certain addresses, but from the docs and discussion that doesn't seem to be an option with spamc/spamd. So, I'm wondering if there's any reason I can't just have the email accounts for the customers that make the most noise call spamassassin (and use their user_prefs), while leaving the other accounts using spamc/spamd? Probably need a faster machine/more memory (only 256MB right now) a lot sooner, but that doesn't matter...

Thanks in advance
